Venice, December 18, 2023 – We are pleased to announce that our groundbreaking project, FARAD, has achieved a prestigious 2nd place in the MITDesignX Venice accelerator program. The award ceremony, held at SerenDPT‘s Factory H3 spaces, celebrated FARAD’s innovative solutions for Venice and beyond. The success of the event was made possible through the support of SerenDPT, MITDesignX, Fondazione di Venezia, the City of Venice, and the Veneto Region.

In an exciting competition, the esteemed jury recognized FARAD’s dedication to revolutionizing waterborne transport.

In a world where the ferry industry grapples with pollution challenges, FARAD stands out as a beacon of sustainable innovation. The ferry industry, essential for global transport, faces increasing pressure due to upcoming (2030) environmental regulations and community demands for eco-friendly solutions. FARAD addresses this pressing need by delivering a turn-key service for the electrification of ship operators’ fleets with cost-effective, tailor-made, and modular full-electric systems.

Other zero-emission solutions often fall short in terms of safety, cost-effectiveness, and performance. Additionally, ferry fleets, varying widely in size and operational needs, poses a significant challenge to finding a one-size-fits-all solution. However, FARAD approach can provide solutions for both new vessel designs and retrofit solutions, ensuring a seamless transition for all types of vessels.

FARAD will lead the way with advanced technologies such as its unique full-electric system optimization software, NEXT. Coupled with the pioneering use of supercapacitors and a patented aerospace-derived distributed propulsion system, FARAD ensures a smooth, reliable, and eco-friendly maritime journey.

We invites stakeholders to join us on this transformative journey as we navigate towards a brighter, greener future for water transport. It’s just the beginning.
